  • Abstract
Large amplitude and fast rise time transient effect is of great-concern to electronic systems. In this paper various coupling mechanisms of such a transient field in a tracked vehicle platform are discussed. Efforts are made to mathematically model some of the coupling processes, predict and analyse the possible interaction levels inside the vehicle and also to evaluate the coupling of transients through the communication antenna and the gun of the vehicle. The first level of essential transient protection mechanism for reduction of such high level transient fields has also been discussed. The exceptional contribution to the tracked vehicle´s EMC design implementation is acknowledged when it worked under various kinds of transients in India
