Abstract :
The Army C41 Simulation Initialization System (ACSIS) is a data centric engineering tool used to develop data loads for multiple disparate C41 systems. These data loads consist of organizational unit attributes, inter-unit relationships, all network resources, and the necessary data for proper configuration of the systems and network. The ACSIS solution is being modified to provide expanded business processes and services supported by multiple replicated Oracle instances. These unit specific instances of the ACSIS database enable the rapid development of end user data products and processes to reorganize networks and services according to mission needs. This evolution to a distributed database management system (DDBMS) calls for a scalable architecture with an acceptable level of consistency between databases in geographically dispersed locations. Sophisticated replication and dissemination methods need to be investigated and selected to ensure reliable, automatic operations to the user community.
