Abstract
Heterogeneous wireless mesh networks (WMNs) become one of the development trends because they can provide flexible and diverse wireless network access methods for large indoor and outdoor areas. The simulation based study of wireless mesh networks cannot model all the details of complex wireless environment. This paper presents a wireless mesh testbed called MeshCBD which consists of 6 kinds of networks and the bandwidth differences of these networks are distinct. The architecture and the implementation details are discussed. As an application example of the testbed, we also discuss the experimental results which show the influence of different modulation methods as well as routing protocol parameters to the performance of the application traffic which runs through the testbed.
