  • Abstract
The paper presents the design of a broadband microstrip antenna array operating within 24 GHz frequency range. The designed antenna array is destined for application in FMCW radar modules, in which 2 GHz frequency deviation has been assumed. The antenna has been designed as a 4 × 4 array to achieve appropriate gain. To achieve broadside beam within broad frequency range a parallel feeding network has been applied, whereas the required bandwidth has been obtained with the use of stack patch technique. The top patches have been placed on a thick foam laminate and load the driven patches, which are placed on a thin substrate. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results are shown.
