Abstract
This paper uses the FDTD method to investigate the magnetized plasma antenna erected on the metal ground. The influence of the external magnetic field B0 on the radiation properties of the antenna is presented. Numerical results demonstrate that the near-field distribution is strengthened and the far-field radiation shifts more to the upper half-space when the external magnetic field B0 builds up omegac. The phenomenon is more obvious if the antenna length L is smaller than 1/2 lambda, where lambda is the operation wavelength. The results suggest that it is feasible to dynamically reconfigurate the radiation properties of magnetized plasma antennas for radio frequency communication.
