Abstract
A low-power programmable combined digital signal processor (DSP) and micro-controller unit (MCU), named icyflex, was designed. It is implemented as a customizable, synthesizable and reconfigurable VHDL software intellectual property core. Performance values are given for a 0.18 micron technology integration.
