Abstract :
The paper evaluates the dynamic responses of the charge comparison digital differential protection for power transmission lines. Protection response time delays in a wide range of fault operating conditions, including those that lead to offset current waveforms which have delayed zero crossings, are investigated and quantified in the paper.
