Abstract
We present a review of methods for separation of a chaotic signal from contaminating noise. These methods and associated efficient algorithms for signal treatment can be successfully used in currently investigated chaos communication schemes where the transmitted signal is often degraded by channel noise, multi-path effects, fading etc. Exploitation of chaotic carrier gives, in this application, an advantage as a stochastic signal such as noise can be efficiently separated from the deterministic information-carrying chaotic signal thus increasing the performance figures of the transmission system considered
