Abstract :
An internal compact wideband metal-plate antenna capable of generating a wide impedance bandwidth is proposed to cover the WLAN/ WMAN dual-network operation for laptops with a small size of 29 x 6.5 x 5 mm3 only. The wide impedance bandwidth (about 3.6 GHz) can be obtained by choosing an appropriate feeding point and adding a tuning strip. Details of the proposed antenna are described in the paper, and the experimental and simulation results of the constructed prototype are also presented.
