Abstract :
This paper deals with the speckle reduction in radar images using predictive, multiresolution and thresholding techniques. The schemes adopted are based on a “judicious” combination of these techniques. In fact, by analysing the performances of each technique separately, it is possible to compensate the limitations imposed by the predictive technique and the multiresolution/thresholding technique. Two mixed schemes are developed, when compared to separated techniques, they are proved to be powerful tools in term of speckle reduction and contour preservation
