Abstract
The authors propose to improve the power factor while minimising the harmonic distortion ratio (HDR) of line current for a three-phase diode bridge whose load is capacitive. The principal characteristics of the proposed circuit are low cost, very high efficiency and simplicity. The topology uses a conventional diode bridge to which three inductances and three bidirectional voltage and current switches are added. A control law is implemented with the objective of obtaining a low HDR, over a wide range of variation of the load. Results of simulation and experiment as well as an example of dimensioning are presented and discussed
