Abstract
This paper proposes a modified TCP scheme named TCP Yolanda, which divides the congestion avoidance phase into two sub phases. The congestion window of TCP Yolanda increases rapidly in the first sub phase and relative slowly in the second sub phase with linear style, which make TCP connections more robustly in wireless link failures circumstances and more improvements in throughput. We also introduce an analytic method to decide the parameters of the two sub phase partition based on bottleneck link buffer length estimation. The simulation results based on ns2 show that the throughput improved and fairness preserved.
