Abstract
An intelligent parallel regulator is proposed to improve the stability of electric power systems. The improved stabilizer uses the conventional power system stabilizer (PSS) in parallel with a selected adaptive PSS. A decision block performs the logical and functional paralleling of the two controllers to achieve the desired performance. The effectiveness of the proposed stabilizer is demonstrated by simulations studies for selected different operating conditions and disturbances
