Abstract
This paper presents digital current control techniques for voltage source inverters. These techniques have gained an increasing importance with the wide spread application of voltage source inverters in high performance applications, such as vector controlled AC drives, AC power supplies and active filters, where fast response and high accuracy are required. A variety of methods have been proposed, which can be classified into three main categories: hysteresis current controller; ramp comparator; and predictive controller. The principles of these methods are described. A computationally efficient digital signal processor (DSPg) based implementation of control techniques is presented. The simulation and laboratory test results showing properties of the different techniques are discussed
