Abstract
We present an integrated fiberoptic E-field sensor covering a frequency range from 100 MHz up to 6 GHz. The sensor provides a maximum dynamic range of 93 dB and a minimum detectable field of 30 mV/m. The size of the probe head can be limited to 1 cm3 which is the benefit of using a small and efficient MQW electroabsorption modulator instead of a conventional LiNbO3 device. Together with the small dipole antenna size of 8 mm this results in a high spatial resolution and allows measurements even in small cavities which are not accessible to larger sensors
