Abstract :
A cross-layer scheduling mechanism with opportunistic consideration is proposed for the multi-service cooperative transmission networks, in which the multiple idle nodes act as relays to facilitate the active link communication. In the proposed scheme, the scheduler in the MAC layer of the access point not only exploits the multi-user diversity based on the channel condition feedback from each node, but also considers the priority of various services and the fairness of the individual links. The simulation results explicitly verify our expectation that the proposed scheme can meet the diverse quality-of-service (QoS) requirements of the different types of services without compromising the overall network efficiency and fairness.
