Abstract :
A series of the splayed configurations of orientations of columnar defects in La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 was formed by irradiation with 3.5-GeV Xe ions. The angular dependence of the irreversible magnetization and an upward shift of the irreversibility lines was observed. It is noticed that there exists a critical temperature T below which the vortex system is in a state of single pinning, whereas over which a single vortex is pinned by many columnar defects
