Abstract :
Multicore processors are potentially much more powerful than uniprocessors. But the big challenge is to actually exploit this potential. We propose a formal hierarchical scheme to detect parallelism. One is able to deduce results about whole applications, given dependencies on individual functions, based upon parallelism detection criteria. Results are presented for case studies and validated by speedup values of multicore processor runs.
