Abstract :
This paper derives the inherent relationship between repetitive control (RC) and resonant control. RC is a “broad spectrum” but a slow harmonic suppressor, while resonant control is fast but can be only used to eliminate one specific frequency signal. Most important, based on this, a general internal model principle (IMP) based controller is proposed to offer “tailor-made” high performance control upon various demands of constant-voltage constant-frequency (CVCF) pulse-width modulation (PWM) converters. An application example of IMP based controlled three-phase PWM inverter is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed general IMP based control scheme.
