Abstract :
In a previous study (Biomechanics Symposium, 1985), the authors designed a heavy electromagnetic system with a laser displacement detector for identifying the viscoelasticity of biofluids, but there was no mathematic model expressing the relation between motion style and rheologic parameter of the fluid. Using the concepts of complex viscosity and combining the frequency response characteristic of the system, the authors propose a novel rheometer which utilizes a white noise signal to drive a linear second-order vibrator. They present the relation between the rheologic properties of the fluid and the white-noise response of the system. The experimental results are basically in agreement with previous results.<>
