Abstract :
With an increasing emphasis on security, automated personal identification based on biometrics has been receiving extensive attention over the past decade. Iris recognition, as an emerging biometric recognition approach, is becoming a very active topic in both research and practical applications. This paper proposes the constitution of iris recognition system based on DSP. Firstly, the image acquisition is transformed to digital signal by video processing chip, then transfer the signal to DSP and complete the iris image pretreatment, coding, recognition. Moreover, this paper also introduces the iris localization algorithm in detail, and proposes a new improvement method.
