Abstract :
Most of the MAC protocols only do the optimization for sensor nodes that are within each other´s communication range. In some cases this kind of optimization is the local optimization and may affect the other nodes in large scale sensor networks. Moreover, these protocols don´t fully address the hidden terminal problem; some of them are highly rely on RTS/CTS to avoid it. In this paper, we proposed highly spatial reusable (HSR)-MAC for low data rate sensor networks to achieve the spatial reuse, reduce energy consumption and avoid hidden terminal problem. The simulation shows the promising results. Its energy consumption is 50% less than SMAC.
