Abstract
Advances in technologies have resulted in functional extension of wireless sensor nodes. However, high power consumption is still a significant problem needed to be solved in wireless sensor networks (WSN). In this paper, a NODE-RTI model based on the event generation model is proposed. This model provides a solution for a wireless sensor node to make a compromise of power consumption and amount of missed events by setting a proper RTI period.
