Abstract
Numerical modeling is a powerful tool for EMC/EMI design; however, the methods must be compared in order to validate results. The transmission line method (TLM) and the finite difference time domain (FDTD) method were used to model a TC-9 subcommittee challenge problem. The structure under investigation is a metallic box with a slot aperture. The problem was studied to ascertain emissions and shielding effectiveness. The results of the TLM method and FDTD method are compared, and additional shielding techniques are explored using FDTD
