Abstract :
Recently, wireless sensor network which consists of a large number of small sensors with low-power transceivers has become one of the most popular topics since it can be deployed in many harsh environments without need of communication infrastructures and the attendance of any men. In general, the routing problem in this kind of network is the major concern. For the energy-limited characteristic of the sensor network, energy-inefficient routing is harmful for the lifetime of the whole network. In this paper, the well-known LEACH protocol is analyzed and a simple energy-efficient method named Integrated-LEACH is proposed. The simulation results show us that this kind of method can extend the lifetime of the network effectively and efficiently.
