Proposition of an operational flow for medical electrical equipment evaluation for SUS Bahia

The increasing inclusion of new types of electrical equipment for evaluation for the public and private health services in Brazil is a reality. Often the siege of the suppliers is crucial on the managers´ decision making process to incorporate different technologies. Following from this fact, there are several issues that may be disadvantageous to health units when its managers choose to incorporate technology that are not appropriate for them. In this perspective, technology can become a big problem for the health units. In relation to public healthcare facilities belonging to the state of Bahia, there is no flow that can systematize the processes of electromedical equipment demonstration. This paper presents the proposed operational flow for systematic steps and procedures to be attended by representatives of electrical equipment companies, at the Central Level of health secretary and its health care units in order to subsidize the Central Level in making the final decision regarding the request companies for the demonstration of electromedical equipment.
