Abstract :
The Crew Activity Tracking System (CATS) is a computer architecture that implements a methodology for activity tracking (a form of intent inferencing). CATS uses an explicit task-analytic model of correct operator activities to predict nominal activities and interpret operator actions in real time. The CATS predictions and interpretations are designed to supply the knowledge required for intelligent aiding and training systems. This paper describes CATS together with a prototype aiding system, called the “Task Caddy”, that was developed to demonstrate how such a tool may support pilot performance on new flight deck procedures
