Abstract
Mobile payment is becoming very important throughout the world, especially in emerging countries. Innovative micro-services involving mobile payment become possible only when technical solutions such as web APIs are made available to developers. This enables a fruitful collaboration between powerful telecom operators and nimble “technopreneurs”. The Orange Group is a pioneer with its Emerginov platform aimed at revenue sharing between innovators and telecom operators. Orange Group also has a mobile payment solution called Orange Money which, for security reasons, could not be made available to developers. This research has enriched the Emerginov platform by developing an open Web API for securely accessing this mobile payment system. It is expected that the results of this research attract developers to provide innovative micro-services centered around Orange Money.
