Abstract :
We propose and investigate self-switching mechanism by Sagnac interferometer based semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) for subpicosecond pulses. The various switch characteristics such as phase differentiation between propagated pulses, SOA gain and switch extinction ratio all in time domain are shown.
