Abstract :
A model for the quantization noise in a single-stage single-bit ΣΔ modulator is proposed based on extensive simulation. The model makes no assumption on the noise PDF, thus is a generalization of the linear model. The generalized linear model is used to successfully estimate the performance of ΣΔ modulators. The results are compared to those of the classic linear model and the nonlinear model of S. Ardalan and J. Paulos [1987]
