  • Abstract
One of the most common in the workplace is directly related to the noise level. Noise is defined as something that causes auditory discomfort, is an undesirable sound. Since its exhibition continues at levels above 50 decibels (dB), hearing problem has caused irreversible for individuals, such as loss of hearing. Besides hearing loss, the excess noise decreases the power of concentration, hurting productivity in intellectual work, still causes stress, fatigue, insomnia, headaches, changes in blood flow, among others. A work environment considered highly noisy, are the dental office, since many of the equipment used for noise it generate, however the focus of this study were the pens of high rpm, where it was established that it has caused discomfort to the professionals dentistry and also to their patients. The negative effects of noise attributed to high turnover can already be seen in reports of dentists, where they claim to be stressed, experience headaches, hearing loss. Besides, the present work also to approach the study further improvement in high speed, in order to reduce the noise level and the result has been satisfactory after testing. It is worth adding that there are effective measures for its control, yet few firms that adopt control measures and hearing conservation program.
