Abstract :
This paper introduces a new PCI-based system targeted to prototyping implementations of image processing (IP) in computer vision applications with reconfigurable devices. The system is composed of an image digitizing board and a reconfigurable coprocessor with a new architecture for local memory. The paper describes the implementation of these two boards and discusses the design of a new functional programming environment. This environment is based on a library of parameterized modules implementing some of the most common operations in image processing. Two examples of these modules are overviewed and a new architecture for image convolution is presented
