Abstract :
This paper examines the identification reliability of automated partial discharge (PD) diagnosis systems for common PD defects in gas insulated switchgear (GIS) under practical industrial conditions. The influence of the reference database on diagnosis results as well as new PD evaluation tools like Δu/Δφ-pattern based on phase resolved pulse sequence analysis (PRPSA) are investigated. Especially, the abilities of the PRPSA are examined to identify PD defects with about 70-200 useful PD pulses per second near inception voltage (50 Hz AC stress)
