Abstract
Open resonators find many applications in the measuring techniques and millimeter wave devices. In particular, these are quasioptical (two-reflector) resonators (QR) with metal reflectors and whispering gallery mode dielectric resonators (DR). The coupling of the transmission line and open resonator differs from such coupling of the transmission line and closed resonating structure by the presence of direct coupling with free space. The comparison of experimental characteristics for two type of the open resonator coupling elements has been done. The measurements of the characteristics of a number of DR coupling elements has been carried out.
