Abstract :
The ease of data transfer and the development of various technologies for image processing and color quantization can be utilized to build a Smartphone application that can instantly process and sample the original image, as well as create a preliminary diagnosis for statistical or medical purposes. This research aims to combine existing digital image processing techniques - such as color quantization, equalization filtering, and edge detection - and commercially available digital cameras with centralized databases to create an environment in which doctors located at some remote location can have access to remote patients\´ data with preliminary diagnosis. Specifically, the project expands the concept of "remote diagnostics" through design of a platform for preliminary diagnosis of Molluscum Contagiousum and Kaposi\´s Sarcoma, HIV related skin disorders, so that medication can be applied in the early stages of the disease.
