Abstract :
This work is a contribution to the capture of large environments, obtaining measurements to objects of images captured by an artificial vision system with a wide-angle optics of small focal length. Firstly a justification of the wide-angle optics system utilisation is made, besides the need to model its behaviour. There follows an explanation of the development of an algorithm to find the image formation centre in CCD sensors. Said centre is then used to set up the parameters to be included in the matrix systems of camera calibration. Two algorithms have been developed to calculate the parameters of the modelled optics. The aim is to calibrate those images in which there is a high distortion aberration, as is the case of those associated with wide-angle lens. Finally the experimental results and the sensor application results measuring distances with a laser are presented
