Abstract
Prolonging the network lifetime and reducing the delay of event delivery are both important in event-driven multi- hop wireless sensor networks. In this paper, an optimum predefined mobility trajectory of the sink was explored to balance the two performance metrics. We focus on a lattice-based analytical model for understanding performance as system and mobility parameters are scaled. Based on the model, the theoretical analysis and the simulation results validate our statements. The case of multiple mobile sinks are also discussed and simulated.
