  • Abstract
With the enactment of related standards and the promotion of industry, semantic Web service is becoming a mainstream software form. Due to network dynamics and volatility of user´s requirement, how to capture the changes in user´s requirement and adapt the semantic Web service accordingly has always been a hard issue. The rational use of contextual information, which is a source of implicit requirements, will contribute to a rapid and intelligent Web service evolution process. A context driven approach for semantic Web service evolution is proposed in this paper. In this approach, a context-domain-web service ontology network is constructed and managed under the guidance of ISO/IEC 19763-3 metamodel for ontology registration. Contextual inference rules, which are extracted from ontology network, express the relationship between context and Web service. With these facilities, decisions in evolving a Web service resort to the computational tasks in ISO/IEC 19763-3 based ontology evolution theory.
