  • Abstract
Summary form only given. The spectral region near and above 3 /spl mu/m, which is important in particular for spectroscopy of molecular fundamental stretching modes is not accessible by femtosecond optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) based on the widely spread material BaB/sub 2/O/sub 4/ (BBO). Here we report the highest energies in this spectral range (up to 20 /spl mu/J at 3.5-3.6 /spl mu/m) obtained with a femtosecond traveling-wave LiNbO/sub 3/:MgO OPA.
