Abstract
Electric power steering (EPS) systems have attracted much attention for their advantages. The motor is one of the most important parts for EPS system. The EPS motor is operated by an H-bridge circuit bidirectionally with the PWM technique which results in static problem. The operating characteristics of EPS motor is analyzed and the deadband compensation was designed. The PWM waveform was generated and the deadband compensation testing was made. The results shown the good effects of deadband compensation which helps to meet the demands for faster speed, higher quality, and reduced power requirements in vehicles increasingly.
