Abstract :
The performance of Fixed-length Digital Pulse Interval Modulation (FDPIM) in diffuse infrared indoor environment is presented. The work is based on the ceiling bounce channel model (fig.3) with M = 4, Rb = 166 Mbit/s Symbol structure. The results show FDPIM do not need symbol synchronization and has fixed symbol length, can simplify the receiver and solve modulator waiting or buffer overflow in comparison with PPM and DPIM respectively. The FDPIM has its advantages in wireless optical communications networks.
