Abstract :
A travelling-wave sinusoidal slotted waveguide antenna is investigated. To the best of our knowledge, a sinusoidal slot is applied to the narrow face of a rectangular waveguide at this frequency range, for the first time. In experiment, far-field and S-parameters are measured. The drawback of the sinusoidal radiator, which is its dual component (longitudinal and transversal) radiation, is overcome by applying a polarization filter (polarizer). 15 dB suppression at maximum for the transversal field component is reached by means of the polarizer.
