Abstract
Evaluation of lightning surge waveforms which actually enter into substations is important when investigating the test voltage of equipment. Three types of typical nonstandard waves were selected as a result of investigation of actual lightning surge waveforms. In this study, abnormal flashover phenomena were observed at the pulse like waveform with polarity reversal. This report describes abnormal flashover characteristics and analysis of the flashover propagation steps using image converter camera observation and electrical field analysis
