Abstract :
Due to the limitation of experimental conditions, incomplete data is often obtained in life test, which is known as censored data, and the traditional SPC charts that perform well in dealing with complete sample data are not suitable to analyze the censored data. To solve this problem, this paper focuses the discussion on the censored normal distribution, and proposes a new control chart named CTAN (Censored To Appropriate Normal) to monitor the stability of life test process. By a comparison with existing method through an example, the proposed control chart is proved to be more simple and effective in dealing with censored data and can be better used in monitoring the censored properties from the life test process.
