Abstract :
To improve the performance of the parallel interference cancellation (PIC) detector in a multicode DS-CDMA system, we propose a RAKE receiver called the successive multipath noise canceller (SMNC), with accurate channel estimation as the initial stage. The pilot multipath noise can be reconstructed and removed. The accurate channel estimates without interchannel interference due to the PIC even for multicode channels can also be used in demodulating the symbols. Computer simulation results show that a considerable performance improvement is achieved by the use of the SMNC
