Abstract
Discrete mathematics is essential to both computer scientists and software engineers, not only as it is a mandatory course, but also it develops the ability to reason and think mathematically and logically. A discrete mathematics course is centered on the correctness, logic and algorithms. Most of the students find it difficult to learn the concepts and notations in discrete mathematics. Aimed to improve teaching quality in discrete mathematics teaching, we discuss a fundamental reform of the way discrete mathematics teaching at Shandong Economics University by adding experiments. We pay particular attention in the content of experiments and experiments teaching mode. Contrasts to discrete mathematics teaching without experiments, we can conclude that the teaching method with experiments in discrete mathematics, can integrate theory and program into one, and enhance the comprehension of discrete mathematics for student.
