Abstract
The paper present two models to analyze this problem of the highway transportation and investigate what strategies can reduce the traffic congestion, which brought about by the earthquake. The models can provide better understanding of the congestion and give advice to the solution of this problem by making full use of the road network. Firstly the paper discuss what measurements can be used to judge a strategy of evacuation, which is from the disaster area to safety areas. Secondly develop a graph-based maximum-flow model and find how to achieve the maximum traffic flow from the disaster areas to the safety areas. In the finally, combining the current earthquake in Sichuan of China, the paper get the best solution of transport the casualties by highway in the least time. The result show that the method presented in this paper is very useful.
