  • Abstract
Zero-thickness and perfectly electrically conducting (PEC) strips are traditional and important scattering objects in electromagnetics. As known, they have zero total and backward scattering cross sections in the case of the H-polarized plane wave at the edge-on incidence. In this sense they are invisible. Imperfect zero-thickness strips such as resistive, material (magneto-dielectric) and impedance ones are even more important as they enable one to take into account the properties of more realistic scatterers. Such strips became visible even at the H-wave edge-on incidence. In this paper, attention is focused on the case of a thin material strip scattering. We use the model of such a strip that is more advanced than the "resistive" strip model and "thin-sheet" model. The time dependence factor is assumed as e~iωt and will be omitted further.
