Abstract
An essential issue in practical design of a matrix converter consists in determination of switch current loads versus variation in input frequency, nature of load, and required range of input displacement angle. An analysis of current load of individual branches of the classic matrix converter (MC) is used in this paper to formulate conclusions concerning possible source of voltage distortion on clamp capacitors of the capacitor-clamped multilevel matrix converter (CCMMC).
