Abstract
In this paper, a method of detecting the information relating to building object in news video is proposed. Some models are used for the detection. The first frame of each shot is employed based on the detection of scene changes. From the viewpoints of computation and complexity, the frames irrelevant to information on building objects are first removed. For the detection of frames containing building objects, edge information is used to decide whether a frame contains building objects. Moreover, the caption appearing in news video is also used for the detection of information on building objects. Based on the construction of indices on building names in the Multimedia Map Database (MMD) using a method called “finger prints”, the caption information on building objects can be recognized. Finally, some experimental results are given to reveal the efficacy and accuracy of the proposed method in this paper
